The North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR) issues the following statement from President and CEO Carl Warren.
This statement is in response to Governor Roy Cooper’s announcement of the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Program (CRISI) grant awarded for rail infrastructure projects in North Carolina:
“Today’s award is a testament to North Carolina’s economic growth and future business potential. The North Carolina Railroad Company is proud to collaborate with NCDOT, Norfolk Southern, and other rail and project partners to improve our rail efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. Additional support from Governor Roy Cooper, US Senators Thom Tillis and Ted Budd, and North Carolina’s bipartisan congressional delegation helped make this grant a reality. We are honored to be the recipient of this investment to oversee major projects and transform North Carolina’s rail network. This funding enables NCRR to champion opportunities that lead to economic gains for North Carolina.”
