The North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR) will invest $400,000 to help expand a manufacturing facility in the City of Raeford, N.C. Pennsylvania Transformer Technology, LLC will build an additional 300,000 square feet across two new state-of-the-art facilities, resulting in an estimated $102.5 million of investments into the region, while generating approximately 217 new jobs with an average annual wage of $64,949. NCRR is one of several partners named in the announcement.

Pennsylvania Transformer Technology is a leading domestic manufacturer of power and distribution transformers for the electric utility, municipal power, renewable energy, and industrial markets. Headquartered in Canonsburg, Pa., the company’s planned expansion is designed to increase its manufacturing capacity of transformers in the United States and contribute to reducing domestic supply chain shortages of critical transformer equipment.

We are proud to partner with Pennsylvania Transformer Technology as they grow in Hoke County. Investing in rail infrastructure not only strengthens the energy supply chain but also drives economic growth and opportunity in the region. This project exemplifies how strategic rail investments can fuel industrial expansion and job creation across North Carolina.
