North Carolina Railroad Company Celebrates Partnership at Siemens Mobility’s State-of-the-Art Facility Groundbreaking in Lexington

The North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR) was honored to partner with Siemens Mobility and attend the groundbreaking ceremony for their new east coast manufacturing facility for railroad rolling stock products in Lexington. This momentous occasion marked a significant milestone in the continued growth and development of the region’s transportation infrastructure and manufacturing sector.

Our new Lexington facility will continue to build the long and storied history of rail in the state of North Carolina. It would not be possible without the support and partnership of NCRR and their willingness to continue to expand the rail network to the new facility.

Siemens Mobility, a global leader in intelligent, efficient and sustainable transportation solutions, partnered with NCRR in choosing the new site location in Lexington. Through NCRR’s economic development initiative NCRR Invests, NCRR invested approximately $1 million to assist with the costs of construction and materials needed for Siemens Mobility’s new on-site rail infrastructure operations. The facility will serve as a hub producing state-of-the-art rail vehicles and mobility solutions that will enhance transportation networks across the state and all of North America.
